We’re proud to announce that we’re collaborating with First Episode Mood and Anxiety Program (FEMAP) as this year’s Charity Ball 2016 recipients!
FEMAP is a program under the London Health Sciences Centre that aims to address the unique needs of transition-aged youth between 16 and 25 years who are experiencing the early onset of mood and/or anxiety disorders. Its goal is to fill a gap in mental health delivery by providing non-crisis services that currently do not exist to a population that is in urgent need of mental health care and treatment. Serving youth between the ages of 16 and 25 who are experiencing the first onset of mood and anxiety disorders, patients have easy and immediate access to assessment and treatment (no need of physician referral) in a youth-friendly, non-clinical, safe and comfortable environment. In addition, FEMAP’s goal is to prevent these issues from developing into chronic conditions by early identification and intervention and providing evidence that the FEMAP’s model is not only therapeutically effective, but also cost-effective.
